getting ready for you - silly share

I thought I would share before and current photos of our back yard.  Actual construction is scheduled to begin on the 19th - months later than originally planned but that is a story for another day.

view looking towards back of house.  You will meet Fernando, the sculpture by son Brian.

Other end of this Areospace home.  Notice double windows -
Current view out of dining room slider
Back yard, notice new sliding doors where windows were.  Dead lawn. Lots of lawn/yard furniture
waiting for finishing touches - new paint.  I have been busy at estate sales seeking out chairs to sit
on.

Notice Fernando - still standing but terrain is changing

Lemon tree doing great this year.  We also have a great orange tree.  We bag the oranges up and set them out on parkway with a free sign.  Last year someone took the sign too!! Bugger bugger

Will post more when a difference can be seen-

motels near the ocean

Tom and I are looking forward to sharing our part of the world with you.  Today I visited several motels in Sunset Beach, about 5 miles from our home.  They are older, not the most tricked out accommodations but location is the draw.  You could walk to the waters edge.  I know several of you have plans already - time shares and points.

the Travelodge is on the ocean side of Pacific Coast Highway.  Ocean view with balcony are 2 queens.  Local number is 714-840-2431.

Oceanview Motel.  Clean but no views.  Need to cross PCH to work way to ocean sand.  Priced right.
562-592-2700

Best Western Harbor Inn and Suites.  Convoluted pricing structure but I did see the rooms and they were larger than some and clean.  No ocean views.  800-546-4770

There is a Best Western Huntington Beach, also on PCH.  Newer and right across the street from promenade and ocean.  All are about 5 miles from our home and about 5 miles to the Huntington Beach Pier.

We have started getting ready for the reunion, things you will never see but needed to be done - a new water heater, new furnace, enlarged shower.  We are in process of redoing the back yard - eliminating most of the grass.  California is in a water shortage and we are learning to love the look of drought tolerant for the back yard.   The front yard is still green green for now.

Looking forward to seeing everyone.  Please leave comments for others to read regarding plans.  As the song said - see you in September.  joanell
